Werner Brooks was introduced to classical music from a young age, being the third generation in his family to pursue a musical career. Brooks studied under the guidance of Robert Brooks, François Vermeulen, Louis Botha, and Eric Muller over a period of 5 years. In 2005 Brooks joined the acclaimed Black Tie Ensemble (established in 1999), to further his studies in Opera under the direction of Kammersängerin Mimi Coertse and former Artistic Director of PACT, Neels Hansen.
During 2006 Brooks took part in the production of the Black Tie Ensemble Vignettes, which consisted of excerpts from Giacomo Puccini's critically acclaimed works – Tosca and Madame Butterfly – directed by Michael Gieleta. In addition, Brooks performed in A Tribute to Mario Lanza at UNISA, and the production A Valentines Enchantment in association with SABT.
Brooks is currently appearing as a solo artist at a variety of functions and is available for bookings in various productions and performances.
