Trio BrozStunning siblings – with strings attached

The Trio Broz, an exciting Italian string ensemble, will soon dazzle Southern African audiences with a series of much-loved works. The Trio has garnered rave reviews for their CDs, recordings and over 450 concerts both in Italy and abroad. National and international acclaim for Trio Broz include several awards from prestigious festivals all over Europe. The Trio comprises sisters Barbara and Giada (on violin and viola), and brother Klaus on cello. They first played together professionally at an international summer course in Salzburg in 1993. All are top chamber music graduates of the Academy of St.Cecilia in Rome and Florence’s Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. On the strength of their interpretations of Austrian classical music – especially the works of Haydn, Sussmayr, Mozart and Schubert – they also won a scholarship in 2004 to study at the Salzburg Mozarteum. Their varied SA tour repertoire will include serenades by Beethoven and Sibelius, the ‘last’ Mozart – and a special arrangement by Maestro Bruno Giuranna of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. This won second prize for Best Classic Music CD in 2009 and has brought much prestige to the Trio. On April 25 the Broz siblings fly to Harare for the Harare International Arts Festival, and then return for performances in Gauteng and Mozambique early in May, including Saturday 08 May at “House 26” in Randburg. Experience the glamour and talent of this family trio in May!
