Dr Petrus (Pieter) Roos (75), founder-conductor of the former Transvaal Youth Choir passed away on 11 April 2008 in the Panorama Clinic, Plattekloof, Cape Town due to cancer related causes. He acted as a music examiner for Unisa for over 40 years and will be remembered for his fostering of choral music especially. His funeral service took place on Tuesday 15 April in Kleinmond, Western Cape.
