MBED002 - Fitzwilliam String Quartet
“I just had to let you know that plans are underway to record and
release the next few issues in the Michael Blake Edition of CDs which was
launched a few years ago with MBED001 Complete Solo Piano Music (1994-2004).
MBED002 String Quartets 1 2 and the Piano Quintet (Homage to Schumann) has
been scheduled for recording by the Fitzwilliam String Quartet in October
this year with an early 2012 release date.
This is a particularly costly production to fund - it involves bringing one
of the great quartets of the world to South Africa for the recording - and
so I am inviting you to help by pre-ordering one or more copies of
MBED002 as enough of those will enable the project to go ahead.
The schedule is:
* 30 June - Firm pre-order with payment - MBED002
* 12-18 October - Rehearsal and Recording
* Nov-Dec - Editing and mastering
* Jan 2012 - Manufacturing
* Feb 2012 - Release
The cost will be R150 or £15 or equivalent in other currencies, plus postage
and packaging.
If you decide not to pre-order, I won’ take it personally, and in any event
I’m sure you can still buy a copy after release. But I’d be thrilled if
you’d like to help get this release off the ground by pre-ordering.
