Michael Watt teaches 1st and 2nd year theory and composition at Wits University and piano and improvisation at Brescia House School. He studied piano with Marion Friedman and has performed extensively as soloist and accompanist in concerts, broadcasts and recordings in South Africa, the U.K. and the U.S.A. Apart from wrapping up a masters degree in music at Wits, Michael is passionately interested in architecture, painting, theatre, literature and history – he also loves hiking, climbing, rowing and running.
