Duo Zappa-Mainolfi – “Silent Woods”

The ever-popular Duo Zappa-Mainolfi returns to South Africa for the seventh time in February 2019, for yet another concert tour brimming with musical delights.

Swiss-Italian cellist Mattia Zappa and Italian pianist Massimiliano Mainolfi will be continuing their ongoing love affair with South African audiences that started in 2005.

During their regular visits, they have not only beguiled audiences but have also conducted outreach activities and have raised funds for music development.

This time, their concert tour is an all-Cape affair, starting in the Eastern Cape on 21 February 2019 in Mossel Bay and wending its way along the coast via the Garden Route before ending in Somerset West on 3 March 2019.

The celebrated duo’s varied South African recital programme includes Bach’s Gamba Sonata No. 3, Beethoven’s Cello and Piano Sonata (Op. 69 in A major), Barber’s Cello Sonata (Op. 6) and Ad Aeternam by Swiss-American composer Daniel Schnyder.

Don’t miss seeing these accomplished musicians who the late ArtSmart reviewer Michael Green praised as “skilful, thoughtful, sympathetic performers” during their 2016 South African tour. Contact Hannie Hefer Promotions for media and general enquiries. See contact page for information.
